Apply now to take part in a new summer institute for mid-career American
historians, sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities,Office
of Digital Humanities, run by the Roy Rosenzweig Center for History in New
Media, George Mason University from August 4-15, 2014.
Doing Digital History is designed to fill a much-needed gap for 25 established historians who need instruction and a professional learning community to engage with new media methods and tools.
We seek applications from faculty, public historians, archivists, librarians, museum professionals, and independent scholars specializing in US history, who have had very limited or no training in using digital
methods and tools, or in computing, and who lack a supportive digital community at their home institutions.
Take a peek at the proposed schedule, and apply today at
http://history2014.doingdh.org/
Applications will be open until March 15, 2014.
The FDA History Office has some funding left in this fiscal year budget for some training in digital history. It looks as if your summer institute is closed, but if someone has cancelled or we could pay for the course, we would like to hear of it. Otherwise, is there anything else in the Center for Digital History available as an educational course or experience that we could send a staff member to attend.

Hi Suzanne,
This blog post is re-posted from the Center for Digital History’s site to help spread the word. I would suggest that if you have questions about other courses for your staff you inquire with the Roy Rosenzweig Center for History in New
Media, George Mason University. Their website: http://chnm.gmu.edu/
Good luck!
